Well this morning seems to be about ideas for short-term development contracts for Squirrel Systems. #Include a JVM with Squirrel and embed it inside host. Implement several interfaces. ##Add in a printer driver interface so the same java code used at the workstation could be used at the host for running a printer. ##Implement the req driver interface so req drivers can be written in Java. Don’t need much as the Java code could go to the database for info, though implementing access to Host info would be useful. ##Implement other interfaces such as hotel, member, credit ##Implement the table management interface? #Propose a GUI replacement for drvcfg. **It would minimally work with the existing scr files. **Allow more extended HTML files and CSS for individual drivers ***Primary extension would be to add online help and in particular tooltips **Browser provides the user-interface **Tapestry backend **Jetty web-server, allow the use of an existing Jetty server **JDBC to MSSQL (mostly for department, printer etc validation) **create existing cfg files **compatible with all next gen versions **could optionally extend to classic versions The advantage of 2 for me is that this is very similar to the configuration system desired for my extensions to Squirrel.
